A massive well done to the year 9 football girls who went away last night to Guilsborough. They played amazingly well and came home with an 8-0 victory. All of them played exceptionally well but special mention should go to Shar Cole-Morrison had some fantastic goals and driving attack play, Tiah Bull who did not look out of place in a team a year above her and controlled the defence well.

A huge congratulations to the Year 10 girls’ volleyball team for finishing 3rd in the County. They qualified for the final held at the National Volleyball centre by winning the Wellingborough District tournament. Their athleticism and fantastic team work put in some excellent performances.

They eventually lost out to Campion School (who went onto win) in an epic deciding set that went to the wire.

Well done to all the girls who also have been invited to attend the regional training at the centre and further their development.

The year 7 football team continued their success and represented Wellingborough and East Northants in the English School Cup held at Derby County FC on the 27th January 2017. They qualified by winning the district tournament but found some on the National Cup games very tricky. We eventually got knocked out but did ourselves very proud by only losing 2-1 to the eventual winners by a single penalty.

The boys have had a fantastic season so far and we hope to cap it off by winning the District League, we are currently top with only 1 game to go!!

Well Done Boys

Our Year 8 rugby team showed great courage this week and brilliant progress from last season in a tournament against Sir Christopher Hatton and Wollaston.

With many new faces involved we pulled off a great win against Sir Christopher Hatton, a team that beat us 3 times last year.  The match winning try scored by Vikram Mizumdar, one of our new recruits this season.

There were many other great performances from the whole squad in the 10-7 victory.

We then went onto play Wollaston who have some excellent players. A close fought first half saw a few Weavers mistakes in try scoring positions and then we tired and conceded a few tries. Losing 20-0 in the end.

Well done on all the hard work you have put in. It was great to see all 20 players enjoying themselves.

Keep it up.

A brilliant display in their first match of the year.  With only 2 players having played rugby before joining Weavers I was delighted to see how well they have developed over the 7 weeks we have been teaching them rugby.
We ran out convincing winners in our small sided matches with Hatton.  We scored 7 tries to Hatton's none.
We then mixed the teams up and played a brilliant training game.
All in all a great first experience of rugby at Weavers for our yr 7's.

Keep up the effort boys.
