A huge congratulations to the Year 10 girls’ volleyball team for finishing 3rd in the County. They qualified for the final held at the National Volleyball centre by winning the Wellingborough District tournament. Their athleticism and fantastic team work put in some excellent performances.

They eventually lost out to Campion School (who went onto win) in an epic deciding set that went to the wire.

Well done to all the girls who also have been invited to attend the regional training at the centre and further their development.

As part of our continual drive to safeguard students welfare and wellbeing we held a music PSHE workshop this week. A rising star music band came to sing for us and hold a workshop on e-safety/cyber bullying/British Values and Discrimination.  The band are called “Misunderstood”, they were brilliant, engaging and the students seemed to love them.  All in all a brilliant lesson spent gaining some valuable life skills.  A brief run down on Misunderstood is below if the students are interested.

Graduates from the famous BRIT School of Performing Arts, Stephan Benson and Jeffrey Okyere make up the dynamic and explosive UK Pop/R&B duo Misunderstood. Since appearing on the Britains Got Talent Semi Finals in dance group "Myztikal" the boys have have supported MOBO Award Winner "Chipmunk" and the legendary Grammy winners Boyz II Men on tour. Check out a couple of their videos below:

Many thanks

The event is an outstanding way to raise awareness of professional careers and the possibilities of future employment and training that are available to young people after they complete their GCSE exams.

The event is being held at Tresham College, Kettering Campus. There will be a variety of activities on offer, including meeting industry experts across many employment sectors, ‘Have a Go’ vocational activities and information on Colleges, Universities and Apprenticeships.

It is an expectation that students attend interventions after school in order to receive the additional support they need with difficult concepts and gaps that have been identified in their learning. Please support your child in ensuring that they attend, and if they are unable to that they collect the necessary work that will support them going forward.

  • Monday – Science
  • Tuesday – Maths
  • Wednesday – English
  • Thursday – Option subjects – business, ICT, media, history, geography, GCSE PE, BTEC sport, French, Spanish, Art, Textiles, Music
  • Friday – Option subjects – business, ICT, media, history, geography, GCSE PE, BTEC sport, French, Spanish, Art, Textiles, Music

Those students who are attending and doing the extra work are reaping the rewards and we want to ensure that no student is left behind in what is a life changing period of time, and it is a reminder that Hard work beats talent every day.

The year 7 football team continued their success and represented Wellingborough and East Northants in the English School Cup held at Derby County FC on the 27th January 2017. They qualified by winning the district tournament but found some on the National Cup games very tricky. We eventually got knocked out but did ourselves very proud by only losing 2-1 to the eventual winners by a single penalty.

The boys have had a fantastic season so far and we hope to cap it off by winning the District League, we are currently top with only 1 game to go!!

Well Done Boys
