Weavers Academy

Anti-Bullying

Here at Weavers we have a clear ethos of inclusion, where all members of our community are equally valued.  It is important to us that everyone can come to the school feeling safe and secure in the knowledge that where bullying of any sort does occur, it will be dealt with assertively and confronted at all times and that the outcomes will endeavour to include reconciliation of all parties.

‘Behaviour by an individual or group, usually repeated over time, that intentionally hurts another individual or group either physically or emotionally’ DCSF 2007.

Bullying can take many forms, whether they be physical, direct verbal, indirect or cyber-bullying.  We acknowledge that some bullying is values led: sexism, racism, homophobia, ageism, disability or religious prejudice.  No form of bullying is acceptable and nor will it be tolerated.

All members of our learning community have clear guidance on where to go in the event of an incident of bullying and we have rigorous support structures for the victim(s) of any bullying, as well as for the rehabilitation of anyone involved in bullying. We take bullying very seriously here at Weavers and endeavour at all times to ensure the happiness and welfare of our community.  The Anti Bullying policy is in line with the school improvement plan and the school has entered the Northamptonshire Schools Anti Bullying scheme and is in line to achieve accreditation shortly.
