Weavers Academy

Sixth Form Olympics 2015

16 July 2015 In Sixth Form News

Following our victory in 2014, this year was the turn of Wrenn Academy to host the 2015 Sixth Form Olympics. Despite a programme that was intermittently interrupted by the heavens opening, the event continued to represent the good humour and friendly competition that has long been a feature of the games. There were many closely fought contests, however Weavers’ students excelled in a number of team events, namely boys and girls football, boys and girls basketball, mixed volleyball and the tug of war.

We narrowly missed out on achieving what no school has yet achieved, retaining the title of Wellingborough Sixth Form Champions, finishing a close second to Wollaston who succeeded in demonstrating a consistently high  level in all the events. Credit needs to go to all the students involved who conducted themselves honourably and with admirable sportsmanship, they played an essential role in the success of the day. Thanks to the staff and students at Wrenn for hosting the event and we all look forward to renewing the competition in 2016 when Wollaston will play hosts.
