All 16 to 19 study programmes should be designed to provide students with a structured and challenging learning programme that supports their personal and academic development and progression so that students leave us ready to go out into the next exciting stage of their lives. Study programmes should be individually tailored but will typically combine the elements below:

1. Substantial qualifications that stretch students and prepare them for education at the next level or for employment. At Weavers Academy this is delivered through a combination of A levels and other level three qualifications
2. English and maths where students have not yet achieved a GCSE grade 4
3. Work experience to give students the opportunity to develop their career choices and to apply their skills in real working conditions. We aim to provide all students with 2 weeks of work experience throughout their academic study.
4. Other non-qualification activity to develop students’ character, broader skills, attitudes and confidence, and to support progression, Our PSHE and tutorial programme has been designed to support students development and preparations for life after Sixth Form.

To meet the 16-19 Programme of Study, all students are expected to study a minimum of 3 A levels or other Level 3 qualifications. Study programmes are designed to be full-time with a minimum of 540 planned hours per academic year. Please see below for the allocation of those planned academic hours.
